Womens / Girls Cricket

St Peters Cricket Club is continuing in it's efforts to establish a thriving girls and womens section. Our Womens 1st XI play in the EACA & SCB Women's T20 League and we have two colts sides/age groups - Girls Under 15's and Girls Under 13's. These sides play in the EACA & SCB Junior Leagues.

We are currently looking for new ladies and girls players. Whether or not you have played before or are totally new to the sport you would be more than welcome at our thriving family friendly club. If you are interested in getting involved then please contact David Corney, Chairman and Colts Coordinator.

The signs are particularly encouraging with the current crop of girls colts sides containing county representatives and providing the club with silverware, which you can read about below.

Silverware for the girls!

In 2014 the Under 13 girls team won the Lady Taverners competitions where in the final of the south east competition having been made to bat first and scoring 60-2 off their 8 overs they bowled Old Buckenham CC, from Norfolk, out for 28 in 7.2 overs with Tilda Chambers taking 3 wickets in one over. They made it to the final by getting out of a group including Bexley CC from Kent and Hutton CC from Essex. In the first match Bexley CC scored 38-2 off their 8 overs, St Peters reached 59-1. In their second match against Hutton CC it was more of a closer match with Hutton scoring 36-1 while St Peters scored 39-3.

They then followed this up with more success by winning 4 out of their 5 matches to top the indoor league. So the future looks very bright for this group of girls who will hopefully stay together and get stronger and stronger.
